The house was half taken by the forest shade
as if it purposely blocked the sun and had a say
A family settles there by the mysterious creek
nights are quiet and days are loud and supernatural
The baby only six months not yet even comprehending
That the lost soul in the shaded house existed neverendingly
Alone the baby sat between two new sofas in calm euphoria
with a pencil a piece of paper and a strange face he was drawing
A baby drawing the crying face of the melancholic phantom
the impossibility spreads across the skin in goosebump fashion
The baby looks up as the page levitates by itself as if to speak
The manifestation of the ghost of harsh hold creek

Wagron invasion of earth
2029 Earth's atmosphere was breached by a fleet of a hundred ships, each one more than 5 kilometers in length and atleast 1.5 kilometers across at their widest. The ships didn't have any kind of cannons or bombs. They just breached the atmosphere. When they got within, each ship deployed a strange square cube block from under the ship. These cubes launched Electric magnetic pulses that used earth's own human built satelites to damage and disrupt all technology on earth including communications.
Russia, India, Europe and the U.S.A had enough time to launch a few volleys of missiles some of which hit the incoming ships obliterating 34 of them. The remaining 66 landed on the edge of every major city.
It wasn't enough to stop earth's humans though not by a long shot. The Wagron alien race was in actual fact not so alien and although they looked hairless and broader across the shoulders they were from the same DNA as humans were.
So the war for earth started. As Wagron's left their ships in what were large armoured tanks pulling buggy wheeled containers almost like very sturdy trains on big wheels. These mobiles made their way to the city centers picking off local police and military on their way.
The Wagrons didn't really count on a big deal of resistance after the EMP's and storming show of strength from their tank trains. They were prepared for more but did not expect more. Their forecast was to have most of developed world dominated in three days.
However their loss of 34 ships some of which contained the outlined plans of occupation, caused problems. Giving some countries time to organize their military. Without knowing crucial, specific geopolitical facts, the invading wagron armies would suffer great losses.
What did they want? Why were they invading?
The Wagron interstellar military forces or "Jarkinethon" had discovered earth months before. It was identified by Wagron scientific experts as an opportunity to find their genetic origin improve the genetic strength of future Wagron generations.
Wagron's also picked up signs that humans were becoming an interplanetary civilization. They knew there would be traces of technology that Wagrons had yet to invent or even imagine. Beyond that the Wagron interstellar "Jarkinethon" threat council identified Earth humans as a positive threat for the short term future.
Most cities were dealt with in the same way. Wagron forces used their translator microphones and recievers to communicate with the inner city humans. Inviting them to return to Wagron dominated systems and be part of something bigger and better than humanity. While wagron storm troops and technology engineers collected every kind of computer. Captured labs and collected every kind of medical and biological technology. Yet on their missions cross country they were ambushed and sabotaged at every possible point.
Another thing Wagrons did not expect would happen was the quick uprising of the common people enlisting into make shift military brigades. And even a few professional military groups that popped up weeks before when the invasion was just being speculated.
Western Europe fell in a few weeks. So did Japan and most of mainland China. North and South Korea joined forces and fought Wagrons the old fashioned ways. Eastern europe found old fashioned ways to communicate with Russia and find weapons. Wagrons were outflanked and outgunned in every city they landed east of warsaw. Wagron Command sent out a new emp, but it did very little to stop the resistance. Mexico city, west coast Portland, east coast Toronto all overwhelmed their Wagron invasions.
Wagron's didn't have bombs or sophisticated missiles. The "Jarkinethon" had underestimated the necessity of such war tools. Wagrons had bullet ammunition fed guns a little more dangerous and versatile than human armaments. They also had a kind of mounted rapid fire plasma blaster that they would use at checkpoints and areas they were occupying. Their smaller light air crafts also had these plasma blasters.
It was Wagron's small air craft that consolidated security for their occupied cities. Cities that fell back into the hands of humans caused more calamity. In areas where discipline and hierarchy fell apart after victory Military movements fractured and used wagron weaponry against new rivals amongst themselves. As soon as organized military units captured and piloted small Wagron crafts and tanks. Wagron had to use it's best soldiers to contain the human's clever assaults. Which distracted Wagron from regaining the many cities they had lost.
Within 3 months Wagron ships began to leave earth at capacity with hundreds of thousands of healthy humans to intermarry with Wagronian people. And a whole new array of technology that Wagron had never seen before. On the whole Wagron had won. They had lost about half of their fleet and a third of their troops and personel. Yet when they returned to the Wagron systems they were held as heroes. The Wagron civilization experienced incredible adavances in every area of life. While earth took decades to heal. Small pockets of Armed Wagrons were left behind to monitor humans and stop off world human retaliations.
Chapter 1 The outpost
The last wagrons took off from earth as the new world power called the "Infirm" who had adopted wagron weaponry and a few of their tactics chased them. Wagrons didn't need anything else.
Infirm had been getting closer and closer to capturing the last of the Wagrons. Those wagrons were occupying large tracts of land from Kazakhstan into the Gobi desert which was fast becoming green again by China's efforts before the invasion.
Infirm's outpost was about 60 miles inland from the Caspian sea. On the Russian side, 2 miles from the Kazakh border. This region was complete desert with very little ground cover for infirm troops to engage the Wagron forces at their land projects. So Infirm moved at night.
The small town near the infirm outpost was also occupied with Infirm troops guarding supplies and ever ready for a tactical ambush, if Wagron ever found the nearby outpost.
The outpost itself was a two story concrete building, a round abandoned warehouse with a parking area on its roof surrounding a domed area.
It looked empty from the outside, but contained two lower stories aswell. One a makeshift parking lot for infirm's APC's and the other water stores and army rations.
Infirm was built by Putin himself. Originally a clandestine intelligence organization, it was sent out to mimic the wagrons and learn what it could. It was a way for Russia to exploit the Russian army's limitations and blunders. As Wagron forces descended from Saint Petersburg to Moscow they spent their energy decimating and outflanking the Russia's central armed forces aswell as a few well armed militias. But infirm was there the whole way. Infiltrating their land lead troops. Sabotaging their airships and vehicles and infiltrating their lines of communication using tech specialists and language experts who studied together in the early months of the conflict until Infirm had built a trusty database on the Wagron invaders communications. A lot of of Russias army was destroyed. Though the tens of thousands of well trained cunning troops joined the growing Infirm group.
As infirm became the main military force, the Wagrons of the east had aleady been defeated. Europe was next.
Infirm leadership were exhilirated by the challenges and excitement of learning about an alien humanoid military and it's technology. Never satisfied by any of their victories, yet over excited by the intell they could collect and act on.
Toray Shabokstalis a 23 year old seasoned recruit was left in charge of eight other men. As their captain took off with 10 others to attack a Wagron land project. Not yet confident he would be followed, he looked at each one in the undergound parking lot of the outpost. Nothing to hear but the desert wind howling outside as he stared into their eyes. With a Ukranian accent he yelled. "Take hidden positions for the night on the rooftop parking lot, our colleagues have not returned from their raid and they may be coming in with Wagrons hot on their tails".
Toray took his sniper "Krulle" and explosives expert "Jakob" with him as the sun set. "You look at me as your junior because you are four and five years older than me."Toray bellowed.
Krulle looked up surprised. And Jakob smiled and said "We will follow your orders Toray, do you think we don't know? We know about your exploits at Novgorod." They walked across the scrub and sand of the low hills looking for a spot to monitor the road in.
Krulle grunted sarcastically, he was the oldest there and still offended at not being chosen to lead by the captain Kyrgoff. Toray immediately challenged Krulle straight out "Get ready to have the shit kicked out of you Krulle." Now Krulle just laughed at him. "Toray you are just a story teller lad, the russian army soften the wagrons before you guys even arrived at Novgorod."
Krulle suddenly fell backwards as Toray tripped him. Krulle jumped back to his feet as Toray threw a well timed punch to his jaw. Krulle face turned from smirk to rage as he laid into Toray with punches and kicks.
Toray took some of the body shots as he had some improvised armor and blocked all blows to the head in terrific time. Krulle tired after 5 minutes thinking it would be enough to put Toray in his place and take command, silently believing Captain Kyrgoff and the team had been killed or captured. But Toray hadn't broken a sweat and the temperature was at 32 celsius.
Krulle looked up and percieved he hadn't made an impact on Toray and Toray hadn't even gotten started with him. Krulle looked back down again expecting to get beaten up badly. "Krulle you have two options, you can declare your loyalty to me now infront of Jakob and then infront of our men back at the outpost, or I will kick the living shit out of you so badly that you will forget who are as a person." Krulle looked up again this time pretty scared. "Sorry Toray I will respect your leadership and obey your orders."
Toray took him down with a strike to the temple with a thumbed fist an elbow to the jaw and a knee to the chest.
Jakob asked "Why did you do that he surrendered?" Toray said "He needs to feel it not just think it. Besides I didn't kick the shit out of him he'll be up in a minute."
And Krulle was up in a minute. Toray helped him up and whispered "If you do anything to question my order again I'll make sure you get buried out here." Krulle nodded and the three made it down to the road.
They set up a IED bomb they would be able to trigger if their captain returned with enemies on their tale. Krulle took position 30 meters in some brush with his sniper rifle, Jakob and Toray set up an super improvised mortar launcher 5 meters from Krulle. If Captain Kyrgoff returned tonight with the enemy following. Toray would be the heroe.
